Owen’s Birthday Suit / Bee Inspection 🐝

We winterized our two beehives on one of the last warm, fall days. We added sugar boards, cedar chips for condensation, and foam for outside insulation. It was Owen’s first time to inspect the hives, using the bee suit Grandma and Papa bought him for his birthday. He liked the smell of the hives.. Beeswax and honeysuckle are two of my favorite smells. 

Conner also has a bee suit from Grandma and Papa. 

Fingers crossed that our bees survive the winter. We pulled zero honey off the hives this year, and our supply is very limited from the year prior.
